Description
Tony Griffin is a North Carolina native who loved art from birth. Griffin met NC artist Ben Long at 6 years of age and the two quickly forged a mentor/student relationship. Tony moved to Florence, Italy, at the age of eleven, studied art there under Signorina Nera Simi, Ben Long and Italian master Pietro Annigoni. Tony completed high school in Florence and returned to the states to graduate from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. His classical art education has informed years of exploration and creation. Griffin is currently a plein-air landscape painter and a figurative and portrait artist of note. We are honored to share his artwork in the Old Jail Galleries for the Month of January.

An artist reception honoring Tony Griffin on the opening of his show will be held Wednesday, January 4th, 5:30-7:30. Join us to view Tony's artwork and find that perfect piece for your own collection, speak with this local treasure and enjoy refreshments. Public welcome/encouraged.

Griffin's art will be on display until January 27th.
