Joan Gardner Artist Reception

Joan Gardner began her formal art education with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Old Dominion University and received her Master of Fine Arts Degree with a minor in Art History from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. She has lived n the Catawba Valley of North Carolina for fifty years and during that time has exhibited throughout the United States. Her early work in landscape painting can be found in many private and corporate collections, including Bernhardt Furniture, Fox River Paper Company and several national banking institutions. In the 80’s she began to explore social issues with large painted installations. She has recently transitioned to works of varying sizes that reflect the current historical period.
